An End in Itself

In light of current events (the Capitol riots), I would like to just shout to the world my belief that, in democracy, process is more important than outcome. That is, it is better to lose through the rule of law than to win through an undemocratic putsch. In democracy, the means are the end. I feel very comfortable saying this to both sides.

I also would like to affirm my belief in consistency. If a practice is wrong, it’s wrong for everybody, all the time. I.E., you can’t spend the summer minimizing, excusing, and justifying violence, then condemn it when the other side does it. Likewise, you can’t spend the summer condemning violence then minimize, excuse and justify it when your side does it.
